When Will GTA VI Be Released?
Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026.
The game is currently confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not yet announced a PC release date.

Welcome Back to Vice City
GTA VI brings players back to Vice City, Rockstar’s fictional interpretation of Miami, but the scope of the game extends far beyond the city itself.
Vice City is located within the fictional state of Leonida, a sprawling setting inspired heavily by Florida. Rockstar describes the game as taking place across the “sunniest place in America”, while the story explores a much darker criminal world underneath it.
The official GTA VI website showcases several locations throughout Leonida alongside its beaches, highways, nightlife, wetlands, neighborhoods and neon-filled city streets.

Jason and Lucia Are at the Center of the Story
The story of GTA VI revolves around Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
According to Rockstar, Jason and Lucia find themselves caught in a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida after what was supposed to be an easy score goes wrong. Their survival increasingly depends on trusting each other as events spiral out of control.
Jason grew up around criminals and hustlers before spending time in the Army in an attempt to escape that environment. Rockstar’s official character profile suggests that he wants a simpler life, although his circumstances continue pulling him deeper into trouble.

Lucia, meanwhile, is positioned as the other central half of GTA VI’s story. Together, Jason and Lucia appear set to form one of the most important partnerships Rockstar has created for a Grand Theft Auto campaign.
GTA VI Trailer 2 Gave Us a Much Better Look at the Game
Rockstar released GTA VI Trailer 2 on May 6, 2025, providing a much more detailed look at Jason, Lucia and the world surrounding Vice City.
The trailer expanded the focus beyond the protagonists and showed the atmosphere Rockstar is creating across Leonida: luxury properties, crowded streets, bars, beaches, criminal activity, vehicles and an enormous amount of environmental detail.

Rockstar Is Preparing an Extended Look at GTA VI
Rockstar has announced Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, which will premiere on August 27, 2026 at 3 PM ET.
According to Rockstar, the presentation will premiere on Netflix before becoming available through Rockstar’s official channels later that day.
The announcement makes August 27 one of the most important GTA VI dates before launch and could provide players with the most extensive official look at the game yet.

GTA VI Pre-Orders Are Available
Pre-orders for GTA VI are now available, with Rockstar offering multiple editions of the game.
Players can choose between the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition, with additional bonuses depending on the version purchased.
Rockstar has also announced the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus, featuring content inspired by an earlier era of Vice City.
